Quisqueเป็นสกุลปลาเฮริง ยุคก่อนประวัติศาสตร์ที่สูญพันธุ์ไปแล้ว ซึ่งมีชีวิตอยู่ในช่วงยุคไมโอซีนตอนบน[ 1 ]อย่างน้อยก็รู้จักสองชนิด ได้แก่ Q. gilbertiจากบริเวณที่ปัจจุบันคือแคลิฟอร์เนียตอนใต้และ Q. bakeriจากบริเวณที่ปัจจุบันคือเท็กซัส
