Samudragarhเป็นหมู่บ้านในเขตPurbasthali I CDในเขตย่อย Kalna [ 1 ]ของอำเภอ Purba Bardhamanในรัฐเว ส ต์เบงกอลประเทศอินเดีย สถานีตำรวจ Nadanghatให้บริการหมู่บ้านนี้ อยู่ ห่างจากKalna ประมาณ 15 กิโลเมตร ตั้งอยู่บนฝั่งตะวันตกของแม่น้ำBhāgirathi
นิรุกติศาสตร์
คำว่า Samudragarh มาจากคำภาษาเบงกาลีสองคำ คือSamudra (แปลว่าทะเล) และGarh (แปลว่าป้อม) แม้จะมีคำอธิบายหลายอย่างเกี่ยวกับที่มาของชื่อนี้ แต่คำอธิบายหลักคือ คำว่า Samudra มาจากชื่อของกษัตริย์ท้องถิ่น และเนื่องจากกษัตริย์ได้สร้างป้อมปราการของพระองค์ในสถานที่แห่งนี้ คำว่า Garh จึงมาจากชื่อป้อมนั้นเอง (แม้ว่าจะยังไม่พบป้อมปราการใดๆ ก็ตาม) อีกคำอธิบายหนึ่งคือ พื้นที่นี้ล้อมรอบด้วยแหล่งน้ำทุกด้าน ดังนั้นชื่อนี้จึงอาจเกี่ยวข้องกับน้ำ

ที่ตั้ง
Samudragarh ตั้งอยู่บนที่ราบลุ่มแม่น้ำที่มีความอุดมสมบูรณ์ทางการเกษตรระหว่างแม่น้ำBhagirathi , AjayและDamodar [ 2 ]อุณหภูมิในภูมิภาคนี้แตกต่างกันไปตั้งแต่ 17-18 °C ในฤดูหนาวถึง 30-32 °C ในฤดูร้อน[ 3 ]

สถานีตำรวจ นาดังฆัตมีเขตอำนาจครอบคลุมบางส่วนของ เขตปกครอง ปูร์บาสทาลี 1และ ปู ร์บาสทาลี 2พื้นที่ครอบคลุมคือ 60 ตารางกิโลเมตร[ 4 ] [ 5 ]

ตามสำมะโนประชากรของอินเดียปี 2554สมุทรากรมีประชากรทั้งหมด 13,089 คน โดยเป็นชาย 6,826 คน (52%) และหญิง 6,263 คน (48%) ประชากรที่มีอายุต่ำกว่า 6 ปีมีจำนวน 1,343 คน จำนวนผู้รู้หนังสือในสมุทรากรมีทั้งหมด 9,424 คน (80.23% ของประชากรที่มีอายุมากกว่า 6 ปี) [ 6 ]
ขนส่ง
สถานีรถไฟสมุทรากรอยู่ ห่างจาก เมืองโฮวราห์ ประมาณ 97 กิโลเมตรบนเส้นทางรถไฟสายโฮวราห์-บันเดล-กัตวาของการรถไฟภาคตะวันออกมีสถานีรถไฟ 2 แห่ง ได้แก่สมุทรากร (สถานีของเขตการรถไฟโฮวราห์) และนันไดแกรม (สถานีของเขตการรถไฟโฮวราห์)

เศรษฐกิจ
หลังจากการแบ่งแยกอินเดีย ช่างทอผ้าฝีมือดีหลายคนจากธากาได้อพยพมาตั้งถิ่นฐานในรัฐเบงกอลตะวันตก บริเวณชานติปุระในเขตนาเดีย และอัมบิกา กัลนาในเขตบาร์ดามัน ซึ่งทั้งสองแห่งเป็นศูนย์กลางที่มีชื่อเสียงด้านผ้าทอมือมาแต่ดั้งเดิม ด้วยการสนับสนุนจากรัฐบาล ช่างทอผ้าผู้มากความสามารถเหล่านี้จึงฟื้นฟูอาชีพดั้งเดิมของพวกเขาขึ้นมาอีกครั้ง และศิลปะการทอผ้าอันประณีตก็เฟื่องฟูขึ้นอีกครั้ง ปัจจุบัน ผ้าทอเนื้อละเอียดนุ่มราวขนนกและผ้าสาหรีในลวดลายและสีสันแปลกตาถูกผลิตขึ้นในเขตทอผ้าอันกว้างใหญ่ของชานติปุระ ฟูเลียสมุทรากราห์ธาตรีแกรมและอัมบิกา กัลนาโดยแต่ละศูนย์ผลิตผ้าคุณภาพเยี่ยมในรูปแบบการทอที่เป็นเอกลักษณ์ของตนเอง สมุทรากราห์เชี่ยวชาญในการผสมผสานงานจาการ์ดและจัมดานี ผลผลิตจะถูกจำหน่ายผ่านสหกรณ์และกิจการต่างๆ[ 7 ]
เทศกาลต่างๆ
(1) ดอลปุรณิมา (กุมภาพันธ์-มีนาคม) ผู้แสวงบุญจากทั่วโลกมาร่วมงานเทศกาลนี้ ซึ่งจัดขึ้นที่เมืองนาบาดวิปและสถานที่ทางประวัติศาสตร์โดยรอบที่เกี่ยวข้องกับพระศรีไชตันยา นักเดินทางมายังวัดกูร์-กาธาธารที่ตั้งอยู่ในสมุทรการ์ห
(2) เทศกาลประทัด (กันยายน/ตุลาคม) นี่คือเทศกาลประจำเมืองสมุทรการ์ห ซึ่งจัดขึ้นต่อจากเทศกาลดูร์กาปูจา
(3) นอกจากนี้ เทศกาลเกือบทั้งหมดที่เกี่ยวข้องกับวัฒนธรรมเบงกาลีก็มีการเฉลิมฉลองที่นี่ เช่นโปเฮลา ไบสาขะ , สรัสวตี ปูจา , ดูร์กา ปูจาเป็นต้น
